Allred Sheep Company
Wiley Allred and his son Parley Allred were involved in bringing sheep across the plains in the early 1850’s and coming into the Sanpete County to settle.
Parley had a son that he named after his father Wiley Payne Allred that was the first Allred to get involved with larger number’s to go out on the open range. He was my great grandfather. He only had one son live to maturity his name was Wiley Eugene Allred. He was my grandfather. Him and his sons ran sheep together as Eugene Allred and Sons, there names were Euray and Dale.
Euray was my father and Dale and were close and I was able to buy his share of what was put together of their range operation. Today we still have permits from my great grandfather, grandfather, father and father and uncle that we run on.
My ancestors were very particular about their breeding program. They bought Rambouillet ram’s from different sales through the years, and was known to have the most uniform wool clip in the state of Utah. Today I have three sons involved in the sheep industry. We have tried to keep the quality of sheep that our ancestors were so particular about. We bought Neilson Sheep Co out and Gerald Richens out to be able to maintain the quality of sheep that we liked. That put us in the purebred business and we have been raising high quality rams and selling in the Utah Ram Sale for several years. We will have some top quality rams in the sale this year 2021.
