Dry Sandy Sheep Company

After dispersing a Red Angus herd in 2011, we started the Suffolk program in 2012. Initially from about 40 ewes coming from Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri and Virginia. Early ram purchases from Iowa, Virginia, Michigan and Utah. In the fall of 2020 we would AI to Scottish sires and would use our first sire from New Zealand a year later. We have also imported a ram from Canada. We are currently only using rams that we have bred and developed, as many as four generations removed from the imported genetics. We run 125 Suffolk, 40 Ile deFrance and 10 Hampshire ewes under commercial conditions in Northwest Kansas. Operated by Matt and Amy Beals with some help from son Baxter and his wife Morgan.
